The high points of the event were the flag- off/launch of Akwa Ibom Trade and Tourism Fair (AKITTOF) 2016 by Mark Esset, who represented, the speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, and the presentation of awards to winners in different categories. Among the awards recipients were, Airtel Networks Limited, Champion Breweries Plc, Ritman University, Rayfield International Secondary School, Tower of Ivory Schools, SO & U Advertising Company, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (Atlantic FM), and Gufax Microfinance Bank Ltd.

Receiving the award, Udom Inoyo, executive director, ExxonMobil affiliates, Nigeria thanked UYOCCIMA for acknowledging the contributions of MPN
as well as those of other corporate organizations and individuals in the
development of the State, noting that, "the company's contributions to the State are testimonies of its commitment to her development."
