Centennial Anniversary of Dr. Puey Ungphakorn On November 18, 2015, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) joined in the celebration of Professor Dr. Puey Ungphakorn’s Centennial Anniversary in 2016, naming him a key world figure for his contribution in education, social science and humanity. Puey was recognized as the governor of the Bank of Thailand and the rector of Thammasat University. During World War II, he was one of the Free Thai Movement members who were against the government policy, siding with Japan. “Khem Yenying” was his code name.
