Speaking at the event, MPN's team lead and representative of the General Manager, Joint Venture Operations, Mike Attah pointed out that the donations were to assist the beneficiary organizations to implement their various projects and programs targeted at specific developmental and empowerment initiatives in some communities in the State. Mr. Attah enumerated some of MPN's other contributions towards the development of Akwa Ibom State and the empowerment of her people in the areas of education, health, sports, infrastructure, rural electrification, water supply, etc. The Manager, Public and Government Affairs, Joint Venture Operations, Mrs. Regina Udobong noted that the beneficiary groups which had earlier written to request for the MPN's support/sponsorship of their programmes, were selected only after satisfactory due diligence, to ascertain they had the management and accountability systems to steward and account for the support received. She congratulated the twelve organizations and charged them to put the support received to judicious use. On his part, the Special Guest of Honor and Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Barr. Onofiok Luke, represented by the Deputy Speaker, Princess Felicia Bassey, commended MPN for the gesture and for her several other contributions to the State.
