Message from Neil A. Hansen Chairman and Managing Director Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited
The year 2014 represents a remarkable milestone for Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited as the company celebrates 120 years of operations in Thailand. I am honored to join with the 2,600 employees of Esso and ExxonMobil affiliates in Thailand to commemorate this special occasion. We have contributed significantly to the important goals of improving energy sustainability and providing the energy requirements of the Thai people since the beginning of our operations in Siam during the reign of King Chulalongkorn in 1894. Over the years, our employees have also actively sought to sustain and develop the societies and communities in which we live through a variety of corporate social responsibility initiatives. Esso and ExxonMobil operations in Thailand include refining and marketing of fuels and lubricants, production of natural gas, manufacturing and marketing of chemical products, and the provision of various business support services to ExxonMobil affiliates in more than 40 countries through a regional operating headquarters located in Bangkok. This remarkable 120 year anniversary milestone is reflective of a business model built to endure the ups and downs of the business cycle. It also speaks volumes of the focus our employees place on operational integrity as we strive each day to operate safely and protect the environment. I would like to offer my gratitude to all employees, both past and present, whose tremendous talent, dedication, and hard work helped Esso build an enduring partnership with the people and country of Thailand. On this special occasion, I would like to recognize and thank the countless organizations and individuals who have provided support to Esso over the years. Esso and the Thai people have built a relationship that has lasted for 12 decades and we hope to continue to provide the energy needed to support Thailand’s growth and development for many years to come. th
